Project Planning
Background and Needs:

The Riecken Foundation works to increase community involvement by including projects in their programming that involve any or all sectors of the community. This project focuses on children, encouraging them to use their imaginations and learn about recycling materials.

Collaborative Goal:

To increase awareness of the partner organization’s mission through art and engage more people in its work.

Project Objective:

By the end of this project, school children in Chiche will have increased awareness regarding recycling.

Project Description:

I will work with children from schools in Chiche to create trash monsters from recycled materials. The trash monsters will be put on display at the library, as well as their schools, to promote recycling.

Planned Activities:

  • Collect discarded materials that can be used to create the monsters.
  • Meet with children and discuss the importance of recycling and resusing materials.
  • Facilitate the creation of trash monsters.
